Maritime Combat Systems Consultant and Line of Business Lead
Location: Henley-on-Thames
Contract: Permanent
We require a Maritime Combat Systems Consultant for this medium-sized Defence consultancy and technical services company. In addition to executing maritime consultancy tasks, you would also act as the lead for the development of maritime systems business. This is a pivotal appointment that provides an opportunity to shape, build and manage maritime systems business within a growing, market-leading company. A thorough knowledge of current and evolving UK MoD maritime programmes is essential. The successful candidate will take an active role in setting the business development strategy for our maritime systems business. The post would suit someone familiar with the Armed Services environment, with recent experience of operating within defence acquisition either as a former Service person or a MoD Civil Servant.
Please note that prior to appointment individuals will be required to undergo government security vetting if a current security clearance is not already held.

Air Combat Systems Consultant and Line of Business Lead

We require an Air Combat Systems Consultant for this medium-sized Defence consultancy and technical services company. Divisional Support Manager, Systems Division
Location: Henley on Thames
Contract: Permanent
The employee will report to the Head of Systems Division and manage the Systems Division Coordinator (DC), and bear responsibility for:
. Managing utilisation and monitoring work-load;
. Performance Management;
. Conducting appraisal and recommending remuneration;
. Promoting training and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Divisional Support Manager (DSM) will be to act as Chief of Staff for Systems Division (Sys Div), working very closely with its Head and Business Managers (BMs), and in conjunction with Corporate Heads of Department and Managers.
As a member of the Divisional Management and Support Team (DMST), the employee will share collective responsibility for Sys Div’s performance. Individual performance objectives will be agreed with Head of Systems Division (Head Sys Div).
Key tasks will include:
. Discharging fee-earning assignments for 10% of their working time, as agreed with Head Sys Div.
. Undertaking Business Development activities on an opportunity basis, associated with fee-earning activities.
. Potentially acting as a Project Manager
Specified Tasks
. Assisting Head Sys Div with the monthly reconciliation of management accounts, the production of monthly Forecasts of Outturn, and with financial reporting to the SCS Board.
. Assisting Head Sys Div with the production of Sys Div Business Plans and Re-Forecasts.
. Generating routine weekly and monthly reports for Head Sys Div’s approval and release.
. Gathering Business Intelligence from relevant journals, websites and other sources, and ensuring its appropriate dissemination across Sys Div.
. Acting as the Divisional Information Officer, with responsibility for IM protocols and processes, Internal Communication and Information Coherence inside Sys Div.
. Building, maintaining and overseeing implementation of the Sys Div Training and Development Plan.
. Coordinating implementation of the appraisal process within Sys Div.
. Coordinating the Sys Div input to Corporate marketing materials.
. Supporting the Head and BMs of Sys Div with regard to Organisational Development issues.
. Sourcing consultants for Sys Div BMs to use to meet Dstl, NITEworks, Industry Interim and other Associate Consultant requirements.
. Coordinating and assisting appropriate implementation of the SCS Bid and Proposal process by Sys Div personnel.
. Acting as the first POC for Corporate HQ managers for all routine matters.
. Supporting Head Sys Div with regard to Quality and Technical Assurance issues, and coordinating the project review process within Sys Div.
. Ensuring appropriate implementation of and adherence to Defence Export Controls in Sys Div.
. Overseeing the work of the Sys Div DC.
The employee will be required to temporarily discharge the tasks of the DC in their absence, and to fulfil such other duties as may be reasonably be required.
